March Break, VIA Canada to QC

I can't wait to to go Montreal, but the VIA train is no where near as comfy as the one we took in Europe...

a cute little station on our way.

VIA Rail, Canada's national passenger rail service. is born in 1978. The very first all-passenger service called the Super Continental begins its run on Oct. 29th.

In 1980, Choo-Choo the VIA mascot makes his first public appearance!

Queen Elizabeth II and the late Pope John Paul II both take rides on VIA train in 1984.

Over 22 departures are added into the busy Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal schedules in 1992.

VIA introduced self-service ticketing kiosks to make buying tickets easier.
